On page 61 of The Quantum Revelation Paul Levy writes:
It is the leaving behind of commonly agreed upon truths that have been outgrown and shown to be wrong that helps propel science and human civilization forward. It is as if we have to come up with a new idea regarding how to deal with reality. In Wheeler’s opinion, ‘the most revolutionary discovery in science is yet to come! And come, not by questioning the quantum, but by uncovering that utterly simple idea that demands the quantum.’
He continues:
Einstein remarked that our physical theories ‘ought to lend themselves to so simple a description that even a child could understand them.’ In a similar vein, Lederman says, ‘If the basic idea is too complicated to fit on a T-shirt, it’s probably wrong.’
In Rethinking Survival, I wrote:
Restoring a simple, complete and accurate paradigm of leadership and relationships now could make the difference between human survival on the one hand, and the extinction of the human race (or the end of civilization as we know it) on the other.
It answers Levy’s call:
The Quantum Paradigm Life Wheel pictures an elegantly simple yet complete reality map that meets the standard of Occam’s razor: maximum inclusiveness with greatest simplicity.
.
Working with the Quantum Paradigm empowers the “substantially new manner of thinking,” which, Einstein said, is necessary “if mankind is to survive.”

A human being is part of the whole called ‘Universe,’ a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest . . . This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. . We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive. – Albert Einstein
Einstein’s New Way of Thinking
Human survival, Einstein warned us, cannot be taken for granted. Tipping the scales of history in favor of survival depends on freeing ourselves from the mental prison of limited, delusional thinking.
The quantum Life Wheel pictures Einstein’s widened circle of compassion, complete with his magical, all-encompassing compass at its center.
It’s also the answer to comparative religion legend Joseph Campbell’s prescient hint:
We don’t have a mythology for people recognizing the humanity of a person on the other side of the hemisphere. I’ve often wondered if some of the notions coming out of quantum physics, quantum interconnectedness, don’t express that.
WIDEN the CIRCLE OF COMPASSION

Recognize the Humanity of a Person on the Other Side of the Globe
Levy repeatedly refers to psychologist Carl Jung, who reminds us:
, , , in times of collective madness such as we are experiencing today, only new symbolic ideas that help us see our situation in a new way can save us from our self-created collective nightmare.
He continues, We as a species are desperately in need of a saving idea. The idea of the quantum perfectly fits the bill.
Further, . . . some of the most mind-blowing ideas are so obvious that they are staring us in the face. . .
Indeed. The sacred geometry of the archetypal Life Wheel is omnipresent:
It appears in biology:
It repeats throughout nature.
It appears in all cultures through all times.
Wheeler writes, ‘Surely someday, we will grasp the central idea of it all as so simple, so beautiful, so compelling that we will all say to each other, ‘Oh, how could it have been otherwise! . . . Sometimes a shift in a single idea can precipitate a transition into a new epoch.
Levy foresees,
What quantum physics has unleashed in the realm of technology is the palest reflection of what it can potentially unleash within the human psyche.
And so it is.
